So... As I mentioned in my introductory post, I enjoy writing YA fiction in my spare time. This is the synopsis (basically, back-cover material/idea capsule) for my current story idea:
"The storm comes back in bits and pieces.
Me screaming at mom. Her screaming back. Rain. Police lights. Suffocating walls of water. Memories of dad –
I was only gonna run away for a little while – just one night. Little did I know that I'd end up here, on this island, alone.
It was like a horror story, until I met Dre. That's what I named the scaly, finger-eating fish-kid I found in a tide pool. She keeps me company, but I miss mom, and I wanna find a way home.
I think Dre needs me though. Or even if she doesn't really, I think she thinks she does.
I kind of adopted her... But I get the feeling that if I ever try to leave; a whole new horror story will begin."
Anyhoo, yeah. XD I'd love to hear your thoughts/suggestions about the idea in general, so feel free to critique! ^_^

Oooh, sounds neat! I would totally read it. It has several great hooks- how they ended up on the island, why they ran away in the first place, what has the fish-kid done to make the protagonist so concerned, and finally what will happen when they do try to leave the island? ? ? :)
Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it, and I'm glad it was interesting! I hope to post bits of the actual story later on, too. Thanks again!
